Ohm meter question

OK, I'm building some crossovers and testing some diaphrams and other drivers and I have one of these older inexpensive non-digital Ohm meters from Radio Hack.

Question: How do you calibrate the Ohm meter readings (measurements) on this unit?

There is a dial on the face of the meter that adjusts the needle reading for Ohm measurements. Is this something that you need to calibrate from a known source such as an electronic component that has a specified resistence (e.g., an 8 Ohm resister, for example)?

Yeh, I know ....my knowledge of electonics is seriously lacking....

I would check the owners instructions for calibration. I think some of those analog vom's had two adjustment screws for zero and load. It would be good to have known values to check measurements with, both voltage and resistance.

Generally the old analogs only had to be adjusted for battery condition

Touch the probes together and zero it Don't touch the screws.

Really, you should put that in the drawer and spend 5 bucks to get into almost current technology

Note- cheap batteries won't last in it. Or any meter. Use Alkaline.

Turn off when not in use!
